Fantastic knife! Very well made with smooth, strong action. The machining is top notch. First thing I did was take it apart for inspection, cleaning and lube. The internals are just as nicely machined as the outside. The sliding mechanism is smoother than a babies bottom and the locking gates are polished at the contact points. Bestech, the OEM, really knows their stuff. Surprised they don't make their own OTF. Very nice simple, clean and utilitarian design Takcom!

When I first bought this I was a little hesitant, just one review and almost nothing on the web about the shepherd. With the 20% coupon it was around 190$ so still pretty expensive at least to me. I really like it, smooth action, light weight, nice fit/finish, ambidextrous, no “glass breaker, sharp, good steel, deep clip. Lockup is good with some play every direction with out and in play being the worst. Far less then the cheaper ones. Size is similar to the Lighting and about 1/2 ounce lighter at 4 1/4 ounces. Lots of good choices in the 230$ mark, this is a good one but the LiveWire is lighter and made in USA. I chose this because of the traditional blade shape, cheaper price (coupon...) and it doesn’t look like every other otf like the livewire does. For size reference I wear a size medium glove is always too small and large a little big. Hand fits perfect on the shepherd though. Rock on!
