BFS03 is not a traditional side switchblade. The switch is from pressing down on the bolster. Instead of the switch itself to lock the blade, BFS03 is a liner lock that locks that blade.

This was my 3rd TacKnife purchase, wanted it for camping and hunting. Auto-switch is safe and sturdy, and the blade lock makes this a solid knife (no “wiggle” when opened). Very handsome wood handle. So glad I added this version to my collection. Couldn’t be happier. Ordered a stiletto (4th knife) just for fun, can’t wait until it arrives.
Handsome knife. The bottom spring seems a little too strong. Hard to push. Nice blade too.
