TAKCOM‘s Nighthawk V2 OTF knife was designed to improve on the stealthy spirit of the V1. Same straightforwardness and no-fuss mentality, the V2 has a machined notch in the handle for a smoother pocket clip installation. Furthermore, we made the switch to be less aggressive and smoother to operate. We also improved on the V1 by upgrading the blade to 154CM to have better edge retention and more resistive to corrosion.
“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” – This goes on to say we didn’t change the stuff that people loved from V1. We left the switch on the face of the handle because it gave leverage for blade deployment. It makes it easier to activate the knife and retract the knife. For spear point style blade, it allows ergonomic carry whether you are right-handed or left-handed without worrying about the pocket clip position.
**The Tanto style blade will not be operable for left-handed user. The clip is not reversible.

Has a robust & comfortable feel to it . And just enough weight to it, Trigger is in the right place with a comfortable feel
Sincerely, this knife blew me away. From start to finish and it starts with the look, materials and the price.
A slightly bellied, over three inch flat ground tanto in 154cm steel with a slick looking fuller and ‘speed holes’. It’s a sexy looking blade with beefy stock housed in a bery well constructed aluminum frame / handle featuring a side slide with stepped traction.
The price? I don’t know how they got the price down to where it is. I saw mostly good reviews online but I’ll be honest, I was skeptical given the price on more well known OTFs with the same exact materials.
Then I got it and immediately found my skepticism was unfounded.
The hard case it came in is very nice and included a full set of blacked out screws in case I wanted to swap out the standard ones. I did but left the show side screws silver at the butt end. It lends a nice visual balance when the blade is deployed to have the bare metal screws at the butt end.
The slide is just stiff enough to know I have to want the blade to fly out. It’s not going to fire accidentally. The actual action of deployment is snappy AF. Bam! Tanto out. Mmmmmhm! So satisfying, and that sound. That authoritative OTF sound.
The blade came sharp, about as as sharp as a Bestech does which for a factory sharpening is quite good. I always profile my knives out of the box and did so here too, laid the edge back 2 or 3 degrees from the factory angle. It sharpened and deburred like I would expect a well cooked 154cm to.
How is the blade play? Honestly I was surprised at how little there was. I don’t mean I was surprised at this price point, I mean for an OTF in general, as they all have some, I was surprised by how little play it had. I’ve handled OTFs nearly three times the price that had the same amount of wiggle my TK Pro V2 does.
As a fairly knowledgeable and avid knife enthusiast, I am floored by this knife, especially for the price point. It won’t be my last TacKnives OTF.
In short, if you are thinking about getting one, just do it. Do it confidently and do it while these are priced where they are.
The TK Pro V2 Tanto is unbelievably good.
