The TacKnives MTUP5 OTF is a large fully automatic double action OTF (Out The Front) knife that comes standard with CNC aviation Zinc Alloy handles. The 100% CNC Construction of the handle makes for a precise fit of the handle and the blade. The 100% CNC Construction is not only for the exterior, but it is also the interior and the operating components as well.
All TacKnives knives are designed with EDC (Everyday Carry) in mind. Therefore, ergonomics are everything. The MTUP5 handle shape is well balanced and feels natural in the hand of the operator.
Inside the MTUP5 OTF knife, you will find our new dual spring technology where it gives the MTUP5 its consistent firing and super rapid deployment. The trigger is designed to be at the most ergonomic position for your thumb. The trigger action is both crisp and smooth.
Since every TacKnives knives are designed with EDC in mind, you will find almost all TacKnives knives are equipped with a ballistic glass breaker and a stainless steel pocket clip. Both features are extremely essential in an EDC knife.
All TacKnives OTF knives are extremely safe to operate and use. TacKnives OTF knives come with a built-in safety that will not allow the blade to fully deploy if anything is obstructing its path. Once in “safety mode” the blade will need to be reset by pulling the blade all the way into its locking position making it fully functional again.
My colleagues and I purchased this this knife as a gift for our Fire Chief. I am incredibly impressed with the design and detail of the artwork. That being said, this is no novelty knife! It is well built and very sturdy. The clip on it is attached by the glass breaker, not held on with tiny screws like so many other knifes. The OTF function is flawless and the blade seems very sharp. I’m hoping our Chief will get many years out of it. The carrying case and Holster pouch are an added bonus too.
