TacKnives Magnificent Beast

This knife actually started off as the Budget Unnamed. But after everything was said and done, I felt it deserved a new name because it ended up looking quite a bit different from the Unnamed. The main changes were to the blade shape and the handle around the pivot area. I also added the rock grind, although that could still change in future versions.

The Unnamed was my first love. It was the first knife I ever designed, and I remember every part of the journey. Unfortunately, a lot of people didn’t like the blade shape, and many also didn’t like the plunge lock. That was pretty much the end of the road for the Unnamed.

But I still loved everything about that knife.

I’ve always been drawn to knives where the blade is wider than the handle. I like a hole that allows an easy middle-finger reverse flick. I like good jimping. I like a front flipper. And I love a good rock grind.

So with those things in mind, here comes the Magnificent Beast.

Great knife overall, not just for the money. Great for fidgeting, perfectly weighted blade. Can easily thumb, reverse and front flick open. Blade is sharp and drops free when lock is released.

This is going to be the best budget knife of the year. The cutout and front flipper deployment methods work well. I need a couple more for customizing with dye and if I get brave, perhaps a hand satin blade refinish.

I love this knife! I can’t believe the quality for only $70! Absolutely mind blowing. I also have the DLC version of the Intruder on its way in the mail! 🤙🏼 I also have the Sunspear which is another great knife but I like the Magnificent Beast even more. Huge fan of tac knives! I

Awesome knife, love the action and very sharp blade. The handle feels very comfortable in the hand, and liner lock has good access. Titanium pocket clip works great. Another Awesome knife from Tacknives. Keep'em coming.

  1. This Beast is MAGNIFICENT!! When it opens, it doesn’t give a small little ‘snick’ when it locks in. It gives a nice solid ‘kathunk’. It is a joy to fidget. Even slow rolling the front flipper give a nice engagement sound. And the front flipper is actually easy to operate. You dont have to hold your hand just right to open it. 2 sets of jimping for all kinds of precision cuts. I think I will buy at least 1 more. I got the green and satin and its perty.
