TacKnives MTU8T OTF is a large OTF, however it is on the smaller side of our large OTFs. MTU8 is a simple but very beautiful knife. The whole knife is produced from CNC machined. Every part of the knife is very precise which results in minimal play on the blade.

MTU8T is equipped with an EDC stainless steel pocket clip and a ballistic window breaker. The blade of the knife is made from 7CR17 Carbon Steel and is of Tanto style.

This is a quality knife. I collect knives and have several hundred in my collection, about 20 or so are OTFs. A number of my OTFs are from China and most of those are also quality knives but many are also very heavy at about 8 ounces. For an OTF, over time my criteria has included weight and my preference is between 3 and 4 ounces. At 3.4 oz, the MTU8 is perfect. The knife feels heavy but is relatively light. Blade material is not the absolute best but will certainly do the job. Machining is very good. My only complaint would be the effort that it takes to deploy the blade. It has a nice sound on launch but a heavy ‘clack’ on retraction, indicating a very strong spring, which facilitates a firm launch. Very little blade play… almost unnoticeable. The Tonto blade is wickedly sharp on arrival. The belt carrying case is a bonus, as is the special screw removal tool. Nice work, TacKnives. I even like the somewhat oversized pocket clip 🙂 I consider this knife a quality addition to my sollection. I will certainly be back.

I just bought this one and holy crap it’s unbelievable quality.
Buying this will not be in the least a regrettable experience, trust me.
So light weight yet robust and firm in the hand.
Nearly zero blade play nothing that’s noticable in the least.
Very fast shipping and literally to any where!
Very responsive staff, I had a question regarding a sharpener preference and they responded right away.
    Very friend and knowledgeable.
And they make some seriously bad A**
knives, I’m such a huge otf fan, listen your gonna want to buy six of these after it arrives
    Not even joking
Every picture your seeing of theses knives are not even close to having this in your hands,
The craftsmanship is felt the moment you let the knife fall out of that plastic sleeve and into your hand.
It’s killer guys with a quick flip to get that CNCed
slide under your thumb and glide it forward exposing just a viciously sharp and precisely shaped blade is nothing short of a rush.
Casue whooo. That thing is some kind of scary sharp.
    Dude just buy it
I promise you won’t find better quality for for the price.
In fact I own a custom one of a kind Gavin and hawk deadlock, I had made a year ago and yes it’s crazy
But side by side in price comparison and craftsmanship.
Ill tell you right now I have two knives on me and both are tacknives
This knife that I’m writing this review for and another one they sell
Ya there where bought a week apart and I’ll be ordering another for my brother at the end of this week.

    So freaking beautifully bad ass.

Well done guys one hell of a job.

Work, play cutting random stuff, protecting yourself which when you deploy the blade you’ll understand just what I mean by vicious, these knives scream “don’t fu** with owner”!
It’s an awesome tool or as a show piece they are that well made.
